Philadelphia, Pa. – The Fordham University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Penn Relays on Saturday with the women's 4x800 relay placing sixth and the men's 4x800 relay taking eleventh.

The women's 4x800 relay of
Merissa Wright (2:14.21),
Danielle Rowe (2:15.82),
Shanna Heaney (2:14.65), and
Kate McCormack (2:16.20) placed fifth in its section and sixth overall in a season-best time of 9:00.80, more than 15 seconds faster than the previous season-best time.

The Rams were nipped at the line by 0.80 seconds in their section by Yale but managed to beat Maryland to the line by over a second.

The Fordham men's 4x800 team of
Fritz Heinrich (1:57.72),
Louis Santelli (1:52.94),
Brian Cook (1:53.85), and
Michael Campbell (1:56.82) took second on their section, and eleventh overall, behind New Hampshire, easily beating NYU and Princeton to the line in a season-best time of 7:41.32, ten seconds faster than the Rams' previous season-best showing.

The Fordham outdoor track and field squads return to action on Sunday, May 1, as they compete in the Yale Springtime Invitational in New Haven, Conn.
