Bronx, NY – The Fordham Track & Field teams hosted and competed in the inaugural
Sean Atkinson Invitational on Friday. Both squads finished third out of three programs – alongside Stony Brook and Fairleigh Dickinson. The Seawolves and Knights took first and second, respectively. The Rams competed in just 10 of 31 events on the day.

The highlight for Fordham was junior
Jake Duckworth's victory in the mile (4:26.93) and freshman
Neve Devine's triumph in the high jump (5' 3"). Other notable results included
Louis Santelli's runner-up finish in the 500 meter run (1:05.52),
Fritz Heinrich's runner-up finish in the 1,000 meter (2:36.28),
Mike Turi's third-place finish in themile (4:30.81), and
Brianne Roche's third-place finish in the mile (5:35.18).

The day started off with freshman
Morgan Menzzasalma placing fourth in the 60 meter hurdles (10.16), before classmate
Michael Aman placed seventh in the 60 meter dash (7.43). In the women's mile,
Clare Bollnow (4
th - 5:42.49),
Kieran Hanrahan (6
th - 5:46.70), and
Blake Elwood (7
th - 5:48.13) followed Roche. Bollnow's time was a new personal record.

Behind Duckworth and Turi in the men's mile were
Ryan McGann (7
th – 4:32.95),
Quincy O'Connor (9
th – 4:36.61), and
Devin Rocks (10
th – 4:38.10).
Leah Hickey (5
th – 1:20.74),
Georgeanne Siller (6
th – 1:21.54),
Christina Perrier (8
th – 1:22.82),
Laurel Fisher (9
th – 1:23.02), and
Stephanie Leo (17
th – 1:26.32) all competed in the 500 meter for the first time in their careers. Aman also ran alongside Santelli in the men's 500 and finished 11
th with a time of 1:11.52.

Josephine Jacob-Dolan and
Rachel Picard competed in their first career 1,000 meter race and finished third and fourth, respectively, with times of 3:12.02 and 3:13.15. Also competing in the men's 1,000 meter race were
Patrick Dineen (7
th – 2:38.57),
Michael Campbell (8
th – 2:39.21), and
Peter Strom (11
th – 2:45.18).

Laura Jaeger and
Kylie Farrell rounded out the Rams' competition on the day with seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively, with times of 27.95 and 28.09 in the 200 meter.

The Rams are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, January 16, at the Great Dane Classic, at Staten Island's Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex.
