Box ScoreLoudonville, N.Y. - The Fordham men's tennis squad opened its 2015 fall schedule with a trip north where the Rams defeated Siena College, 5-2, at the Watervliet High School courts.
Fordham opened the match dropping the doubles point, despite the team of
Pedro Alonzo and
Joseph Kavaloski taking first doubles from Siena's Peter Galante and Alexander Reed, 6-3.
But the Rams won the match by taking five of the six singles matches.
Joey Brander picked up the first singles point for Fordham with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Galante at fourth singles before
Joseph Kavaloski made it 2-1 for the Rams as he defeated Alexander Saglia, 6-3, 6-4, at the third position.
Alonzo then picked up a 6-4, 6-1, win over Diego Lebron at first singles before Mikolaj Borak clinched the match for Fordham with a 6-0, 6-1, win at fifth singles over Jace Koretz.
Cameron Posillico picked up the other point for the Rams as he upended Reed at second singles, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.
The Rams return to action on Sunday, September 20, as they travel to Rider University for a 1:30 p.m. match.
