Chase Edmonds was named the College Sports Madness Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, a College Football Performance Award honorable mention National Player of the Week and a
HERO Sports FCS Offensive Stud of the Week it was announced today.
In Fordham's 48-45 win at Penn on Saturday, Hodge led the Rams with 12 tackles, ten solo, including one for loss. He also forced a fumble which led to Fordham's first score of the day.
On the season, Hodge, the Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, has racked up 61 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss in his return to the lineup after missing the 2014 season with an injury.
Redd, who was injured the day before the game which limited him to kicking extra points and short field goals, came on with eight seconds on the clock and drilled a 31-yard field goal to provide the winning margin for the Rams. He also made good on all five of his PATs to earn his second Corvias Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
On the year Redd has made good on six of his seven field goal attempts and 25 of his 27 PATs.
Edmonds rushed 29 times for 230 yards against the Quakers, his second straight 200-yard rushing game, with four touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 49 yards and another score.
On the year, Edmonds has rushed 125 times for 884 yards with eleven touchdowns. He leads the NCAA FCS in rushing yards (884), rushing touchdowns (11) and scoring (15.0 points/game) has moved up to fifth on the Fordham career rushing yards list with 2,722 yards, while also ranking second on the school's all-time rushing touchdowns list with 34.
Last year, Edmonds received the Jerry Rice Award as the NCAA FCS Rookie of the Year as well as All-America and Patriot League Rookie of the Year accolades.
The Rams (5-1, 1-0), who entered the Penn game ranked 12
th in the NCAA FCS Coaches poll and 13
th in the STATS NCAA FCS poll, return to action on Saturday, October 17, as they host Holy Cross in a Patriot League contest in the annual Ram-Crusader Cup game on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m.
