Photo GalleryBronx, N.Y. (August 12, 2014) – The Fordham University football Rams had their second two-a-day session today and were paid a visit from a special teammate during the afternoon practice.
Â
Jonah Shainberg and his father, Joshua, stopped by to catch practice this afternoon and Jonah addressed the team after the session. Jonah "adopted" by the Rams last September through the
Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor six years ago and underwent numerous treatments for two years. The tumor caused Jonah to suffer a stroke, which left the right side of his body weakened. He is undergoing therapy to regain control of his right side.
Â
Jonah became a member of the Fordham team last year and even has his own locker in the Rams' locker room.

Some other notes from today:
Â
It was announced by the Patriot League today that Fordham's game at Villanova will be televised live on the
American Sports Network with a 3:30 PM kickoff. This brings to eight the number of broadcast games for the Rams in 2014 (the home game with Lafayette and road contests at Bucknell and Army will all be televised on the CSB Sports Network and four other games will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network)
Â
The defense seemed to get the better of the offense in the morning session but the offense came back in the afternoon, scoring on just about every red zone opportunity, though the defense did clamp down on the final two minute drill
Â
The offense was in the celebratory mode after the red zone scores with
Brian Wetzel punting the ball after his score and
Andrew Erenberg attempting to spike the ball after another score
