Fordham’s Matty Najfeld Named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 for Men’s Tennis

Graduate student also named Academic All-Conference

Bronx, N.Y. (April 29, 2014) – Fordham University graduate student Matty Najfeld was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in a vote in a vote by the league's head coaches it was announced on Monday. In addition, Najfeld was named Academic All-Atlantic 10 in a vote of the conference sports information directors.
 
On the year, Najfeld picked compiled a team-best 12 singles wins, playing at the first (4-3) and second (8-2) positions. He was 1-0 at first singles and 1-1 at second doubles at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship. His singles win was a 6-4, 6-4 decision over Elliot Fanshel of St. Bonaventure as the Rams upset the Bonnies in the first round of the championships.
 
A graduate student in the Fordham MBA program with a 3.94 GPA, also amassed ten doubles wins in 2013-2014.
