Results West Windsor Township, NJ (April 13, 2014) – The Fordham University rowing squad competed in the Knecht Cup on April 12 and 13 on Mercer Lake where both the second and third varsity 8 placed third in the grand finals.
The Fordham second varsity 8 open the regatta by winning its heat on Saturday in 7:00.02, well ahead of Drexel, Old Dominion, Drexel, Boston University, Temple and Colgate. In the semifinals, the Fordham second varsity 8 won again in 6:50.40, in front of Wisconsin, Alabama, North Carolina, Buffalo and SMU.
In the second varsity 8 grand final, the Rams placed third (6:52.34) as Boston College and Bucknell beat them to the line but Fordham placed ahead of Drexel, Tulsa and Wisconsin. The second varsity 8 was comprised of

Fordham's third varsity 8 placed second in its heat on Saturday, behind Boston College but in front of Old Dominion, West Virginia and Delaware, to advance to the finals where the Rams placed third, just behind Boston College but in front of UMass, Old Dominion and Temple. In the varsity 8 competition, the Rams placed fourth in its heat but the time of 6:55.89 was good enough to advance the Rams to the semifinals where Fordham placed sixth. In the third level final, the Fordham varsity 8 was the first to the line, beating Temple by three seconds and also ahead of Connecticut, West Virginia, Colgate and George Mason. The varsity 4 finished in fifth place in its heat on Saturday but its time of 8:01.41 was good enough to advance the Rams to the semifinals where they placed third in 7:43.49, behind UMass and Buffalo but in front of Old Dominion, Alabama and West Virginia to advance to the petite finals. The Fordham freshman/novice 4 was third in its heat in 8:44.15 to qualify for the semifinals where the Rams placed third to move on to the petite finals. In the petite finals, the Rams placed fourth (8:30.91) behind UMass but ahead of Lafayette and Drexel. The Fordham entry was comprised of

In the freshman/novice 8, Fordham took sixth in its heat.
