Game One

Michele Daubman hurled a lights-out performance  in the circle and
Kayla Lombardo went 2-4 with an RBI to lead Fordham in a 3-1 victory over Providence of Friday afternoon.

Daubman (5-7) tossed a two-hit complete game victory to pick up the victory, surrendering no earned runs, walking none and striking out six.Â

Lombardo got the Rams on the board early, singling through the left side and scoring
Amy Van Hoven in the top of the first.
Â
Providence responded quickly with an unearned run on a passed ball in the bottom of the frame and the two teams remained scoreless over the next several innings.

In top of the sixth,
Gabby Luety and Daubman started off the inning with back-to-back singles. With runners on first and second,
Paige Ortiz ripped an RBI single through the left side, giving the Rams a 2-1 advantage. After Cora Ianirdo singled to walk the bases loaded,
Sydney Canessa brought home the runner from third on a fielder's choice, giving the Rams the 3-1 lead.

Daubman faced just six batters the rest of the way, retiring the Friars in order and sealing the complete game win.

Lauren Quense limited the Chippewas to just four innings over six innings of work, but the Rams struggled at the dish, falling 4-1 to Central Michigan on Friday evening.

Kayla Lombardo picked up her second multi-hit game of the day, registering Fordham's lone RBI with a solo shot in the top of the seventh.Â

The Chippewas picked up three of their four runs in the top of the first, when a double steal with runners on the corners scored a run from third before Katelyn Rentschler knocked a two-run home run to center.Â

From there, Rachael Knapp took over for Central Michigan, not surrendering a hit until the fifth inning. On the night, Knapp struck out 14.

Lombardo singled to start the top of the fifth, but the Rams failed to bring her home.Â

Canessa also registered a single for the Rams in the top of the sixth.

In the top of the seventh frame, Lombardo hit a solo shot with one out, but the Rams ended up falling short.
