A special season for Fordham's
Titi Fagade got even better on Friday night, as the senior broke two school records to highlight day one of the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
Fagade, a Massachusetts native, set both the 800 meter run and 200 meter dash school records on a track that just two weeks ago saw the 500 meter run record go by the waistside. She opened the day by placing seventh overall (second among collegiate runners) in the 800 meter run in a school record time of 2:07.12. It broke Kerri Gallagher's mark of 2:07.91, set in 2011.
Fagade wasn't finished as she later set the 200 meter dash record in 25.28 seconds, surpassing Cortney Boccardi's 1999 record of 25.43 seconds. Overall, Fagade placed 26
th in the event.
She then closed the night as a part of the 4x400 relay, joining
Danielle Rowe,
Melissa Higgins, and
Kristen Stuart to place 13
th overall in 3:54.44.
Besides Fagade, Higgins had a strong showing in the 800 meter run, clocking in at 2:14.67, good for 28
th place and just missing an ECAC qualifying time, while
Anisa Arsenault also had a solid showing in the mile run, as she placed 43
rd in a season-best time of 5:03.40. Rowe and Stuart also competed in individual events, with Rowe placing 34
th in the 800 meters (2:15.46) and Stuart taking 37
th in the 400 meter dash in 58.28 seconds.
Other Rams competing on Friday included
Mia Toffoli (62
nd – 2:19.92) and
Kerry Sorenson (113
th – 2:28.65) in the 800 meters,
Mara Lieberman in the 3,000 meter run (69

The only men's event held on Friday was the distance medley relay, where the team of Ryan Polo, Sean Collins, Lester Taylor, and Jonathan Annelli placed third overall in a season-best time of 9:54.78, which improved the team's IC4A qualifying time by over 23 seconds.
Competition at the Valentine Invitational concludes on Saturday with the full slate of men's events.
