Kingston, R.I. (February 23, 2014) – The Fordham University men's and women's indoor track and field squads wrapped up competition at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field championships at Rhode Island's Mackal Field House.

For the women,
Titi Fagade placed second in the 800m for the second straight year in a time of 2:11.88, just 0.36 seconds behind the winner, Elise Farris from Duquesne, to earn Second Team All-Conference honors.

The other Second Team All-Atlantic 10 accolade went to the women's 4x800 relay which placed second in a season-best time of 9:07.62, 2.62 seconds behind Duquesne, improving on their ECAC qualifying time.
The Rams had one event winner and one runner-up on the men's side and two second place finishes on the women's side on day two. David Fajoyomi was the event winner for the Rams, taking first in the high jump with a leap of 6' 8.25" to earn First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors after placing second in the event at last year's indoor championships.

Fajoyomi also scored in the 60m hurdles, placing sixth in a time of 8.92 seconds.

Bringing home silver for the Fordham men was Sam Houston, who placed second in the heptathlon for the second straight season with 4,844 points, 174 points behind Rhode Island's Trent Baltzell. Houston won the heptathlon 1000m race on day two in 2:48.59, took fifth in the pole vault (11' 9.75") and sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.94).

Houston also scored for Rams in the high jump, placing fourth with a jump of 6' 4.25".

Two runners scored for the Fordham men in the mile with Jonathan Annelli taking fourth in 4:14.79 and Quincy O'Conner taking eighth in 4:20.05.

Also scoring for the Fordham men were Sean Collins, who placed fourth in the 500m in 1:04.96; Brian Walter, who finished fourth in the 1000m in 2:31.45; Austin Ruiz, who was fourth in the shot put with a season-best toss of 49' 3.5"; and Lester Taylor, who was fifth in the 800m in a season-best time of 1:54.36.

The Fordham women had a pair of runners score in the 500m with
Kristen Stuart and
Danielle Rowe taking fifth (1:15.62) and sixth (1:16.25), respectively, while
Melissa Higgins also scored for the women, taking seventh in the 1000m in 3:00.76.

Other competitors for the Fordham men were Michael Belgiovine, who placed tenth in the mile (4:24.70); Michael Turi, who took tenth in the 3000m (8:32.82); and Kevin Harvey, who was eleventh in the 3000m (8:34.37).

Anisa Arsenault, who were ninth (5:03.58) and tenth (5:07.48), respectively, in the mile;
Christina Vivinetto,
Sarah Glockenmeier and
Ariana Bottalico, who were 15

th (10:29.44) and 18
th (10:30.41), respectively, in the 3000m; and
Caitlin Hart, who took 15
th in the shot put with a put of 32' 1.5".

The women's 4x400 relay placed ninth in 4:00.56.

In the team competition, the Fordham men placed seventh and the women tenth.

Rhode Island won the men's team title with 171.5 points followed by George Mason (140.5), Saint Joseph's (106), La Salle (87), VCU (84), Massachusetts (78.5), Fordham (62.5) and Saint Louis (32.0).

George Mason won the women's team championship with  125 points with Dayton and Duquesne tying for second with 1090 points. VCU was fourth with 96.5 points followed by Rhode Island (85.5), Massachusetts (68), Saint Louis (63), La Salle (43), Richmond (36), Fordham (29) and Saint Joseph's (16).
