Fordham senior
Titi Fagade (Rutland, Mass./Wachusett Regional) was selected as the Atlantic 10 Women's Indoor Track & Field Co-Performer of the Week it was announced on Monday by the league office. It is Fagade's first weekly award of the season, the third of her career, and the third consecutive weekly honor for a Fordham Ram.
Fagade celebrated her birthday in front of her home state crowd on Friday in grand fashion, setting school records in the 800 meter run and the 200 meter dash.
She opened the day by placing seventh overall (2
nd among collegiate runners) in the 800 meter run in a school record time of 2:07.12, bettering Kerri Gallagher's 2011 time of 2:07.91. Her time currently ranks her 18
th in the country, and first in the conference.
Later, she broke the 200 meter dash record by taking 26
th overall in 25.28 seconds, besting Cortney Boccardi's 1999 record of 25.43 seconds. She also helped the 4x400 relay to a 13
th place finish in 3:54.44.
Fagade and the rest of the Rams are back in action on February 22-23 as Fordham competes at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship, held at Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, Rhode Island.
