Bronx, N.Y. (October 27, 2014) – Fordham University freshman running back Chase Edmonds was named the Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week as well as the Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league today. Additionally, Edmonds was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Running Back of the Week, the College Sports Madness Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and ECAC Rookie of the Week.
 
In a 48-27 Patriot League win at Lehigh on Saturday, Fordham's first ever win at Lehigh, Edmonds tied a Patriot League and Fordham single-game record with five rushing touchdowns, rushing 32 times for 197 yards. He scored on runs of one, six and five yards to put Fordham ahead 21-0 in the second quarter, added another one-yarder for a 35-14 lead in the final minute of the first half and capped the outing with a 38-yard touchdown run to make it 42-14 in the third quarter. Edmonds totaled 230 all-purpose yards in the game.
 
Edmonds recorded his sixth-straight 100-yard rushing game and seventh this season, and is just 388 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns away from Fordham single-season records. Edmonds is named both Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week for the second time this year after also pulling off the double on Sept. 15, and earns the Rookie honor for the sixth time.
 
On the year, Edmonds has rushed 182 times for 1,208 yards and 16 touchdowns. He is second in the NCAA FCS in rushing yards (1,208), rushing touchdowns (16) and all-purpose yards (1,611).
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday, November 1, as they host the Colgate University Raiders on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m.
