Men’s Tennis Falls to Wagner, 6-1

Pol Giraldez Wins at Third Singles for Fordham

The Fordham men's tennis team wrapped up its fall play on Saturday with a home match with the Wagner Seahawks.  Behind five singles win, the Seahawks posted a 6-1 victory over the Rams.
 
Wagner snuck out the doubles point, winning at first and third doubles, 8-6 and 8-5.  Fordham did win the second doubles match as Pol Giraldez and Max Peara defeated Sam Flaxman and Charlton Boyd, 8-6.
 
Wagner took the first singles match to go ahead, 2-0 in the team scoring, before Fordham got on the board at #3 singles.  Giraldez topped Allen Wang in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
 
Fordham however could not get over the hump in any of the remaining singles matches.  Mischa Koran fell at first singles, 6-4, 6-4, while Joey Bradner lost at sixth singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).  Pedro Alonzo and Peara each pushed their singles matches to a third set, but were unable to come out on top.  Alonzo lost at fifth singles, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2, while Peara fell at fourth singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
