Water Polo’s Patrick Lenihan Named CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week

Sophomore Earns First Career Weekly Award

Patrick Lenihan
The Collegiate Water Polo Association released its weekly honor roll on Thursday, and Fordham sophomore Patrick Lenihan (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) was selected as the Northern Division Player of the Week.  This is the first career weekly award for Lenihan.

The Rams' sophomore driver had a solid weekend at Bucknell's Bison Invitational.  He totaled eight goals and three steals in four games over the tournament.  He opened the Invitational with a goal and two steals in a win over Washington & Jefferson, and later that day scored four times in Fordham's loss to Diablo Valley College.  His best performance came on Sunday in a win over Mercyhurst, as he notched three goals and a steal.

Overall, Lenihan is currently second on the Rams with 15 goals this season.

Lenihan and the rest of the Rams, who entered the CWPA top 10 poll this week at #10, have a busy weekend ahead with four home divisional games at the Messmore Aquatic Center.  Fordham hosts Harvard (2:00 PM) and Brown (7:00 PM) on Saturday, September 21st, while taking on MIT (10:00 AM)
