May 11, 2013 - Princeton, N.J. - The ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship is underway at Princeton University in New Jersey. Though still stricken with injuries, the Fordham track & field team saw action in seven events on Saturday and qualified for two of Sunday's finals.
The Rams qualified for the finals of the men's 400 meter intermediate hurdles and the women's 4x800 relay. In the hurdles, it was senior Sean Atkinson qualifying eighth in a time of 53.04 seconds, while the women's 4x800 relay qualified third in a time of 8:49.62.
Fordham just missed a third Sunday qualifier by one spot as the men's 4x800 relay finished tenth with a time of 7:35.86.
Other competitors for Fordham at the ECAC/IC4A Championship were Anisa Arsenault, who placed 16th in the 5,000 meter run (17:04.65), Nick Synan, who was 27th in the 10,000 meter run (32:48.47), Kevin Fitzgerald, who placed 20th in the 1,500 meter run (4:01.93), and the women's 4x400 relay, which finished 17th in a season-best time of 3:47.67.
Day two of the championship begins at 10:00 AM on Sunday.
