Queens, N.Y. - (Oct. 17, 2010) - The Fordham University men's and women's cross country teams traveled into Queens today to compete in the annual St. John's Fall Festival Invitational where Julian Saad won the men's race to lead Fordham to the team title and
Kerri Gallagher won the women's race to help the Rams to a second place finish.
Fordham won the men's race with 19 points, placing seven runners among the top ten, well ahead of runner-up Hofstra who finished with 56 teams points. FDU (72) and Saint Peter's (93) rounded out the men's field.
In the women's team competition, the Rams were nipped by St. John's as the Red Storm won with a team score of 26, nine points better than Fordham's 35. Hofstra (75), Saint Peter's (101) and Dominican (130) also competed on the distaff side.
Saad won the men's 6K race in a time of 19:26.93, about ten seconds ahead of teammates Brian Walter, who placed second in19:36.34, and Ryan Polo, who took third in 19:36.83.
Also scoring for the Fordham men were Nick Synan, who placed sixth in 19:45.47 and Sam Stuart, who was seventh in 19:46.50.

In the women's 4K race, Gallagher was first to the line, finishing in a time of 14:06.28, just over six seconds ahead teammate
Anisa Arsenault, who took second in a time of 14:12.55. The St. John's trio of Samantha Meyerhoff, Nicole Cocozza and Aryon Trujillio rounded out the top five.

Ashley Davis, who placed eleventh in 15:03.94) and Kerry Kwalwasser, who was 12th in 15:05.63.
