Fordham's Jason Conlisk Signs With Montreal Expos

(June 12, 2002) - It was announced today that former Fordham University infielder Jason Conlisk (Queens, NY/Archbishop Molloy) has signed to play for the Montreal Expos. He has been assigned to the Vermont Expos (A) of the New York Penn League. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Conlisk was drafted as the fifth pick in the 17th round, 497th overall, to the Montreal Expos on June 4 as a part of the MLB First-Year Player Draft. He had a solid 2002 campaign, hitting .290 with two home runs and 25 RBI, while scoring 34 runs and stealing 15 of 17 bases.

In three seasons with the Rams, Conlisk was a career .302 hitter, collecting 154 hits, 94 runs, 29 doubles, 74 RBI, and 36 stolen bases.

With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
