Bronx, N.Y. – Despite it being Senior Day, the seven members of the Fordham women's soccer program will have other chances to go out on top this year. Today Loyola Chicago took advantage of a ten minute lul by the Ram defense late in the first half to turn a 1-0 lead into a 3-0 advantage as the Ramblers shutout Fordham, 3-0, in an Atlantic 10 game at Moglia Stadium.
 
With the loss, Fordham falls to 3-4-1 overall, 0-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Loyola Chicago improves to 4-2-3 overall, 1-0 in the conference.
 
The Ramblers got on the board early with a goal in the seventh minute when Addison Schaffer collected a loose ball in the box and one-time it into the net.
 
Later in the half, Loyola scored in the 32^nd and 40^th minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
 
Fordham attempted a comeback in the second half, outshooting the Ramblers 10-0 in the half, but couldn't find the back of the net.
 
Notes
• Following the game grad student Lina Mueller and seniors Riley Carroll, Ava Giudice, Piper Hasbrook, Lena Johnsen, Sophia Mays, and Salma Simonin were honored.
 
• The Rams outshoot the Ramblers, 14-4, in the game.
 
What's next?
• The Rams continue their Atlantic 10 schedule by traveling to Fairfax, Va., to take on the George Mason University Patriots on Thursday, September 24, at 6:00 PM at George Mason Stadium.
 
• It will be the 13th meeting between the Rams and the Patriots.
 
• Fordham leads the all-time series, which started in 2013, 6-3-3, and has taken the past six meetings.
 
• The Rams took last year's meeting, 1-0, in the Bronx as Lena Johnson scored the game's only goal in the 88^th minute and Kyla King notched three saves for the shutout.
