Women’s Soccer Earns A10 Championship Berth

Rams defeat Richmond to secure eight-seed; Will play at #1 Saint Louis on Saturday

Richmond, Va. -  The Fordham women's soccer team knew that it would need some help today if the Rams were going to earn a berth in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship. The first thing they had to do was beat Richmond today, which the Rams managed thanks to a goal from Annie Maguire. Next they needed some help and that came in the form of a 2-0 Saint Joseph's loss to Loyola Chicago that clinched the eight-seed for the Rams who will travel to top-seeded Saint Louis on Saturday for a quarterfinal match.

With the win, Fordham closes out the regular season with a 7-8-2 overall record, 4-5-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Richmond closes out its season 8-4-6 overall, 3-4-3 in the conference.

Maguire made her first goal of the season a big one, that coming in the 51st minute. Salma Simonin collected a loose ball and fed Maguire into the box with Maguire getting off a shot from about 12 yards on the ground past the Richmond keeper.
