Bronx, N.Y. – (August 19, 2026) – The Fordham women's soccer team returns to the tri-state area following its opening weekend in the DMV.
The Rams (0-2) took on a challenge in week one of the season, falling to #14 Georgetown, 4-1, and Maryland, 1-0, but look to bounce back this week, as the Rams will face a pair of Metro Conference opponents in Manhattan on Thursday and Marist on Sunday.
SERIES HISTORY
- Thursday is 32nd all-time meeting in the Battle of the Bronx series with Fordham holding a 20-9-2 record against the Jaspers.Last season, the Rams and Jaspers played to a 1-1 draw with Fordham getting a goal from Ava Giudice in the 84th minute for the draw.
- Sunday is the seventh all-time meeting between the Rams and Red Foxes with Fordham having a 4-2 edge in the series.Last season, Fordham posted a 4-0 victory at Moglia Stadium, highlighted by a pair of goals from Renata Mercedes.
THE OPPONENTS
- The Jaspers were picked sixth in the Metro preseason coaches' poll and are 1-1 this season after a win at LIU (3-1) and a loss to Monmouth (1-0).
- Scarlett Smith scored twice in the Jaspers' win over LIU, while Molly Brunk has 13 saves in goal over the first two matches.
- The Red Foxes were also picked sixth in the Metro's preseason coaches' poll.Marist is 0-1 after a 2-0 loss at Binghamton on Sunday.They open the week with a home match against Colgate on Thursday.

- Addison Green and Piper Hasbrook will serve as the 2026 team captains for the Rams.
- With the addition of Liv Johnsen, the Rams will feature a sister act for the fourth time in team history and first since 2015 with her older sister, Lena Johnsen (Jennifer & Jacquelyn Driscoll – 1994-96; Lauren & Casey Nowakowski – 2010; Kristina & Marjana Maksuti – 2015)
- Fordham managed one goal last weekend, coming off the boot of Baylee Canet, the first of her career.
- Green started both games in net for Fordham, totaling eight saves.
- The Rams are led by 2024 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year Magnus Nilerud, who is in his fifth season at Rose Hill (29-35-12 at Fordham; 324-161-39 overall)
