Track & Field Competes At Ramapo Season Opener

Kenan Andrews Sets School Record in the Triple Jump

New York, N.Y. – (January 16, 2026) – The Fordham track & field team was back at The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory on Friday for the Ramapo Season Opener.  No team scores were kept.
 
MEN'S MEET HIGHLIGHTS
  • For the third straight meet, a Fordham school record fell, as Kenan Andrews won the triple jump event with a school record and IC4A qualifying mark of 48' 9 ½", besting the 2005 mark of 47' 10" by Aaron DeGraffe.
  • Sam Freeman also posted an event win, taking the top spot in the 400-meter dash at 48.86 seconds.Additionally, Dakota Strain was sixth in the event at 50.44 seconds, while Nelson Lindsay took seventh (50.59).
  • Freeman also ran the lead-off leg of the 4x400 relay, where he, Njam Abdul-Latif, Strain, and Lindsay placed second in 3:20.57.
  • Michael Croke was second in the pole vault event, clearing 13' 7 ¼".
  • Noah Rubenstein grabbed fourth in the shot put at 44' 9 ½", while being seventh in the weight throw (43' 8").
  • Patrick Torres had a pair of top ten finishes in the triple jump (8th – 44' 4 ¼") and high jump (T-9th – 6' 0"), while Marcelino Hernandez-Peng was eighth in the high jump (6' 2").
WOMEN'S MEET HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Rams had a trio of runner-up finishes, beginning with Kylie Ritz finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.82 seconds, while Michaela Gier was second in the pole vault, clearing 10' 10 ¾".
  • Zoe Arakelian was the final runner-up, taking second in te high jump, clearing 5' 4 ¼".
  • Tomara Seid had a pair of top five finishes, taking third in the triple jump (35' 7 ¼") and fifth in the pole vault (10' 4 ¾").
  • Sophia Oliva earned a fifth place finish in the mile run at 5:20.27, while Cate Roche grabbed eighth in 5:26.66.
  • Ileana Chlorou also had a top five performance in the long jump with a mark of 16' 9 ¾".
  • Sara Labor ended up sixth in the 200-meter dash at 25.62 seconds.
  • Nicole Lytle joined Ritz in the top ten in the 60-meter hurdles, ending up seventh in 9.18 seconds.
  • The 4x400 relay team of Kathleen Keefe, Oliva, Roche, and Marisa House placed sixth in 4:19.42.
