ORLANDO, Fla. – The Fordham golf team sits in a tie for ninth place after 18 holes of action at the Atlantic 10 Championship held at the Evermore Resort's Grand Cypress Course.

The Rams are tied for ninth in the 12-team field with Saint Joseph's at 16 over par. Fordham is five shots behind George Mason in eighth and six behind Loyola Chicago in seventh. Davidson sits atop the team leaderboard at three under, one shot clear of Rhode Island in second.

Richmond's Carson Baez sits atop the individual leaderboard at four under after carding an opening-round 68.

Chris Konefal and freshman
Patrick Ginnity led the way for Fordham on day one of the conference championship, shooting a pair of two-over 74s. Sitting at four over through eight holes, Ginnity played his final 10 holes in two under with eight pars and a pair of birdies. Konefal also took advantage of his inward nine, making birdie on the par-4 12
th before carding an eagle on the par-5 13

Jake Mrva and sophomore
AJ DePaolo each shot a 78 (+6) on Tuesday to grab a share of 45
th place. DePaolo birdied 12, 13 and 15 to head to 16 tee at one over before playing his last three holes in five over. Following an inauspicious start, Mrva played his last 10 holes in two under, birdieing the ninth, 13
th and 15
th holes.

Felix Luetke Meyring shot an 83 (+11) to finish the opening day of the tournament in 58
th.
