BRONX, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2025) – The Fordham men's basketball team will wrap a two-game road swing on Wednesday night when it takes on Duquesne in Pittsburgh.

Tip-off from UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+ and 90.7 FM WFUV.  Tim Benz and Ellis Cannon will call the action on ESPN+ while Lou Orlando and Chaz McAdams will handle the radio broadcasting duties.

Fordham (11-14, 3-9 A-10) heads to the Steel City on the heels of a 70-66 loss at Richmond on Saturday evening.  The Rams led by as many as 11 in the first half and were within one possession in the closing seconds before Dusan Neskovic went 4-for-4 from the charity stripe to seal the game.

Graduate student Japhet Medor turned in another stellar outing for the Rams, finishing with 24 points, six rebounds and a pair of steals in 39 minutes of action.  Medor, who went 8-for-8 from the free throw line in Richmond, reached double figures for the 11th straight game and eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the fifth time this season.  In Atlantic 10 play, Medor is averaging 16.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and just 1.4 turnovers per outing while shooting 37.1% from 3-point range and 89.5% from the stripe.  In A-10 play, Medor ranks sixth in the league in scoring, fourth in assists and second in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.1-to-1).

Jackie Johnson III tallied 15 points against the Spiders, his 24th double-figure scoring performance in 25 opportunities this season.  The senior guard from Wichita, Kan., has posted 20 or more points 12 times, tied for the highest total by a Fordham player since Branden Frazier accomplished the feat 17 times in 2013-14.  On the season, Johnson's 18.7 points per game rank second in the A-10 behind Davidson's Reed Bailey (19.9).  The last Fordham player to average 18.7 points per game or more over the course of a full season was Joe Paterno (20.0), the program's fourth leading scorer all-time, in 1988-89.

Joshua Rivera put together another solid outing at Richmond, reaching double figures for the eighth straight game with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting.  Over the last seven of those games, Rivera is shooting 50.7% from the field and 40.0% from beyond the arc while averaging 14.3 points per contest.

Duquesne (10-15, 5-7 A-10) gets ready to host the Rams following a 77-76 road loss to Dayton on Saturday afternoon.  The Dukes led by six, 65-59, with seven minutes to play before a 15-4 Dayton run flipped momentum in the Flyers' favor.  A furious Duquesne flurry tied the contest at 76 with seven seconds remaining before Malachi Smith went 1-for-2 at the line to seal the win for Dayton.

The Dukes have lost six of their last seven following a 4-1 start in league play.

Against Dayton, Tre Dinkins III scored a game-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting while Matus Hronsky added 16.  Dinkins is the Dukes' leading scorer this season, averaging 12.6 points per game.

Fordham and Duquesne will meet for the second time in just over three weeks, as the Rams took down the Dukes, 65-63, on Jan. 26 at the Rose Hill Gym.  Four Rams finished that game in double figures, led by Rivera with 16.  Medor added 14 while Romad Dean chipped in 12 and Johnson tacked on 10.  Fordham dominated the glass, outrebounding the Dukes, 41-27, and turning 16 offensive rebounds into 19 second-chance points.  The Rams also went 20-of-24 (83.3%) from the charity stripe.

Duquesne leads the overall series, which dates back to 1949, 29-22. Fordham has won six of the last seven meetings between the teams, including two wins in Pittsburgh.
