Staten Island, N.Y. – (December 6, 2025) – The Fordham track & field team opened its 2025-26 indoor season on Saturday afternoon at the Youree Spence Garcia Invitational, hosted by St. John's at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island.  No team scores were kept.
 
WOMEN'S MEET

• Fordham had a number of competitors on Saturday, highlighted by a second place performance by Michaela Gier in the pole vault, clearing 11' 6 ¼", while teammate Tomara Seid was third, clearing 11' ¼".  Seid was also seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 36' 9 ¼", just behind teammate Alexandra Manetovic in fifth place at 36' 10 ½".
• Kylie Ritz had a pair of top ten finishes, taking third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds and ninth in the 200 meters at 25.83 seconds.
• Katelin Cruikshank posted a top five mark in the high jump, taking fifth at 4' 8", while being 16^th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.92).
• Other top ten performances for the Rams were put in by AnnaMaria Ivits in the 400 meters (6^th – 1:01.13), Alondra Baez in the 1,000 meters (7^th – 3:05.78), and Tanicha Saintigene in the shot put (8^th – 38' 6 ¼").
• Ciara McGroary just missed a top ten performance in the 3,000 meters, placing 11^th in 10:58.75.

 
MEN'S MEET

• The Rams had three event winners on Saturday, starting with Kevin Callaghan taking the top time in the 400-meter dash at 49.67 seconds, just ahead of teammate Dakota Strain in third place at 51.48 seconds.
• Strain would also finish runner-up to another event win in the 200-meters, grabbing second in 22.31 seconds behind Fordham's Liam Volz, who had a winning time of 22.16 seconds.  Volz was also ninth in the 60-meter dash at 7.03 seconds.
• Kenan Andrews was the final event winner, placing first in the long jump with a mark of 23' 1 ¼".He also finished second in the triple jump at 47' 3".
• Trevor Rinn added a second place finish in the 1,000 meters at 2:33.47, while Eben Tyre was third in the event at 2:35.41 with Jake Frayler in seventh (2:39.60).
• Other top five finishes came from Menzel Thomas in the 60-meter hurdles (4^th - 8.45), Michael Croke in the pole vault (3^rd – 12' 11 ½"), and Noah Rubenstein in the shot put (2^nd - 47' 8").
• Patrick just missed top five finishes in both of his jumping events, taking sixth in the triple jump (44' 4 ¾") and seventh in the high jump (6' ¾").

 
FRIDAY MEET

• In addition to Saturday's meet, some Rams competed on Friday night at the Armory Distance Carnival
• Meredith Gotzman was fourth in the women's 5,000-meter run in 17:40.80.
• Sean Reidy grabbed third in the the men's 5,000-meter run in 14:46.61, while Darren Croke was ninth in the men's 3,000-meter run n 8:52.02.

 
WHAT'S NEXT

• Fordham is now off for Winter Break until January 9^th for the TCNJ Lions Invitational at the Armory Track & Field Center.
