Men’s Basketball Opens Season on Tuesday

Rams host NJIT in debut of head coach Mike Magpayo

BRONX – The Fordham University Rams open the 2025-2026 season on Tuesday, November 4, as they host the NJIT Highlanders in historic Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.
 
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch (PxP) and Andre Posadas (analyst) announcing as well as broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and the WFUV Sports YouTube page with Chris Carrino (PxP) and Joe Henry (analyst) behind the mics.
 
Fordham enters the season coming off a 12-21 2024-2025 campaign while NJIT was 6-25 last winter.

Tuesday night's game will be the fourth meeting between the Rams and the Highlander on the hardwood. NJIT leads the all-time series, 2-1. The Highlanders took the most recent meeting, an 80-77 win on December 6, 2023 in the Rose Hill Gym.

• The Rams are 79-37 (.681) in season openers since 1908, 85-20 (.810) in home open­ers.
 
• The Rams have won five of the past seven season openers, including a 68-64 overtime over Wagner in 2023-24.
 
• Fordham head coach Mike Magpayo is looking to become the third straight Fordham head coach to win in his Ram debut.
 
• The 2025-26 Fordham squad features 12 new players including ten transfers.
 
• Of the ten transfers, five are grad transfers.
 
• Over the past three years, Fordham has compiled a 26-13 record in the Rose Hill Gym.
