Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham men's basketball head coach
Mike Magpayo announced today the signing of
Desmond Bellot, Jr. (Boston, Mass./ CATS Academy (Mass.)) to the 2026-27 Rams' squad.
"Desmond is an elite competitor which he proved on the highest stage this summer on the EYBL circuit where he shot 43% from three and often guarded the opponent's best perimeter player," said Magpayo. "I love his work ethic. He is what we would call a dog. He brings skill, fearlessness, and an attacking mindset that fits well in the Bronx."
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound, guard earned Honorable Mention All-NEPSAC Class AA honors in 2024-25, leading the Griffins to a 28-7 record and a runner-up finish in the New England
Preparatory School Athletic Council Class AA tournament last year.
Last summer, Bellot averaged 12.4 points, 1.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game for team Expressions at the EYBL Circuit, helping the team advance to the semifinals. He shot 45.7% from behind the arc, earning Honorable Mention All-Tournament honors. He was also rated the fourth most efficient scorer, averaging 1.14 points/possession.
Bellot is a three-star prospect and #6 player in Massachusetts by 247Sports, the #12 ranked player in New England by Prep Hoops, and the #41 shooting guard in class of 2026 according to ESPN.
