Women’s Soccer With Two Crucial A-10 Contests This Week

Bronx, N.Y. – (October 15, 2025) – The stretch run to the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship has begun and the Fordham Rams are right in the thick of the playoff hunt with two matches this week.
 
Fordham (8-4-2, 3-2-1 A10) sits in a tie for fifth place in the standings at 10 points along with Thursday's opponent, La Salle (6-5-2, 3-2-1 A10), and one point ahead of Sunday's opponent, George Mason.  Sunday will also be Alumni Day for Fordham
 
LAST TIME OUT

• The Fordham Rams scored twice in the first half and twice in the second to record a 4-1 Atlantic 10 women's soccer win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies this past Sunday.
• Liina Tervo led the attack with a goal and two assists, while Julia Acosta and Julia Holton each had two assists.
• Riley Carroll, Salma Simonin, and Lena Johnsen had the other goals for the Rams.

 
SERIES HISTORY

• Thursday is the 26^th all-time meeting between Fordham and La Salle with the Explorers having a slight 12-10-3 edge in the series.
• The teams have split the last five meetings at 2-2-1 with La Salle taking the last two matches in 2022 and 2023.  Fordham's last win came in 2021.
• Sunday is the 12^th meeting between the Rams and Patriots with Fordham ahead in the series at 5-3-3.
• The Rams have won the last five meetings, including a 3-0 win last season in Fairfax behind goals by Lena Johnsen, Liina Tervo, and Carmen Hardwick.

 
THE OPPONENTS

• La Salle is tied with Fordham at 10 points in the A-10 standings, following a 5-1 win over George Washington on October 11^th.
• The Explorers' Alexis Garcia is the reigning A-10 Player of the Week after recording a hat trick against the Revolutionaries.  She leads the team with five goals and 12 points.
• Mackenna Yaracs has played every second of the season in goal for La Salle, posting a 1.62 goals against average with two shutouts.
• George Mason enters the week with nine points in the A-10 standings and will face Davidson on Thursday before its match with Fordham on Sunday.
• The Patriots are led by Zoe Vidaurre, who has a team-high six goals and two assists for 14 points.  She also has a team-best three game-winning goals.
• Libby Davy has been the mainstay in goal all season long with a 1.43 goals against average and four shutouts in 14 matches.

• Liina Tervo currently leads the Rams in goals (10) and points (24).On Sunday, she became the seventh Rams to reach 20 goals and 50 points in her career.
• Lena Johnsen is one points shy of her career-high 11, set in 2023.
• The Rams have four players with at least 10 points this season in Liina Tervo (24), Ava Giudice (11), Lena Johnsen (10), and Renata Mercedes (10).  That has not happened for Fordham since 2006 with Katie Sanchez (30), Leah Jerome (27), Haley Lentsch (22) and Erica Frizzell (11).
• Fordham is tied for second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, averaging just over two goals per game.
• The Rams are led by 2024 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year Magnus Nilerud, who is in his fourth season at Rose Hill (27-30-11 at Fordham; 322-158-38 overall)
