BRONX, N.Y. -  The Fordham University Rams continue the 2024 season, Fordham's 124th varsity season, by traveling to New Britain, Conn., to face the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils in Arute Field on Saturday, September 7, at 6:00 p.m.

The game will be streamed on NEC Front Row with Bruce Biel (p-b-p) and Marc Robbins (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and wfuvsports.org with Lou Orlando (p-b-p) and Evan Harkin (color) handling the announcing chores.

Fordham enters the game with an 0-1 record after a season-opening loss at Bowling Green on August 29, while Central Connecticut enters the contest with an 0-1 record and is coming off a season-opening loss at Central Michigan last week.

Saturday's game will be the fourth meeting between Fordham and Central Connecticut on the gridiron, the first since 2019. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series, 2-1, and took the most recent matchup, 26-23, on August 31, 2019, at Moglia Stadium as Francis Cole connected on a 31-yard field goal as time expired to lift the visitors 1:53 after the Rams tied the game on a 13-yard Tim Democrat pass to Dequece Carter.

A few notes on the game:

• Fordham freshman linebacker Jaylen Dawson was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week following the Bowling Green game.

• In his collegiate debut Dawson led the Rams with ten total tackles, five solo.

• The Fordham Rams have thrown the second most touchdown passes of any NCAA FCS school over the past three years.

• The Rams threw a school-record 58 scoring strikes in 2022 (56 of those from Tim DeMorat who set a school and Patriot League record), had 26 from quarterback CJ Montes last year, and have two this year for a total of 86.

• Fordham senior linebacker James Conway has 386 total tackles, third on the Fordham career list.

• Two former Fordham football Rams are currently on NFL rosters. Running back Chase Edmonds, who was drafted in the fourth round by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 draft, is a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but will miss the 2024 season due to injury while offensive lineman Nick Zakelj, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft by the San Francisco and enters his third year with the 49ers.
