BRONX, N.Y. – After scoring his first collegiate goal in the Rams' win over Sacred Heart, freshman forward Daniel Lang has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office.
Lang, who has started all three games so far for the Rams, found the back of the net for the first time in Fordham's 2-1 road win at Sacred Heart on Wednesday night. The freshman from Pulheim, Germany, deftly buried a Daniel D'Ippolito cross in the 77th minute to break a 1-1 stalemate and propel Fordham to victory.
Lang has logged 57 minutes or more in two of the team's first three games.
Lang came to Fordham after spending three years in the academy system of Bayer Leverkusen.
The Rams will return to action on Thursday night when they play host to Santa Clara. Kick-off from Moglia Stadium is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
