Washington, D.C. – (August 26, 2024) – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly women's soccer awards on Monday with Fordham freshman
Liina Tervo (Tuusula, Finland) earning the league's Rookie of the Week honor. It is her first career weekly award.
In her lone appearance of the week, Tervo recorded the fastest hat trick in program history and added an assist in Fordham's 4-2 win over UAlbany on Sunday afternoon at Moglia Stadium. It took Tervo just six minutes and 29 seconds to register the hat trick, scoring in the 36
th, 41
st, and 43
rd minute. She also assisted on Fordham's fourth goal of the game in the 63
rd minute.
The last Fordham hat trick for the women's soccer team was by Haley Lentsch in 2006 against Temple, scoring three goals in six minutes and 49 seconds.
The win improved the Rams to 3-0 on the season, matching the program's best-ever start through three matches. Fordham was also 3-0 in 2004 and 2010.
Tervo and the rest of the Rams will next be in action on Thursday, August 29
th, when Fordham begins a five-match road trip at Wagner. Game time is set for a 7:00 PM start.
