Rams Head to Army For Midweek Bout Upstate

Fordham will take on the Black Knights in a single game at 4:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Heading Upstate for a single game Wednesday afternoon, Fordham University softball heads to West Point for a meeting with Army at 4:00 p.m.

Top of the Order

  • Fordham (17-19-1, 8-4 A-10) come into Wednesday riding a five game winning streak after a three-game sweep of George Washington at home last weekend.

  • The Rams have sat all season as the conference leaders in total doubles and doubles per game, ranking 15th in the nation in that category, while sitting second best in the A-10 in walks drawn as a team.

  • The Rams are also second in the A-10 in home runs per game and in slugging percentage, while defensively ranking second in the league in fielding percentage as well.

  • Three Rams are hitting .299 or better heading into Wednesday, led by Sydney Wells, Kate McGuire, and Bailey Enoch.

  • One of three players to start and play in every game this season, Enoch leads the team with 34 hits and 28 runs scored, with 19 extra-base hits, scattering 11 doubles, three triples, and five home runs.

  • Wells leads the team in RBI's with 41, while tallying 33 hits and 19 runs scored, with 10 doubles and a team best nine home runs, while pacing the Rams in walks with 21, slashing .331/.710/.448 in 35 games played.

The Bronx Loves "2"

  • No we're not talking about Derek Jeter, but the fact that Fordham loves to take two bases, entering the weekend sitting 15th in the nation in doubles per game and total doubles as a team, leading the A-10 with 65 on the year.

  • Gianna Sarlo leads the A-10 with 13 doubles on the year, sitting 24th best amongst all Division I players, one of three Rams in the Top-75.

  • Enoch and Wells are tied for second in the conference in doubles per game and total doubles with 11 apiece.

What About Wells

  • Wells paces the conference with 41 RBIs which is good for 26th best amongst all Division I players, while her 1.17 RBIs per game are 22nd best in the nation.

  • Leading the league with nine home runs, she ranks 70th in the country in home runs and 86th in home runs per game, while sitting second in the A-10 and 66th in the country in doubles per game with 11.

  • With 71 total bases, Wells sits second in the league, while her .710 slugging percentage also ranks second best in the A-10.

Enoch Eating

  • Another one of the top hitters in the Fordham order, Enoch sits tied for second in the A-10 in total doubles and doubles per game.

  • Enoch sits third best amongst all conference players with 66 total bases, just four back of the league lead, and fifth in the league in triples per game.

Devon Doin' Damage

  • Earning a pair of wins in each of the last two A-10 series, Miller enters the midweek allowing just 5.66 hits per seven innings, despite her 110.0 innings pitched being the second most in the A-10.

  • With 90 K's in 2024, Miller sits third best in the A-10 in total strikeouts, and 90th best in the nation.

Taking Bases

  • With 16 stolen bases on the year on 16 tries, Neleh Nogay sits third best in the league in stolen bases and stolen bases per game, both placing her amongst the top-75 players in the nation.

  • Enoch is a perfect 8-of-8 on stolen bases, while Mikayla Swan has nabbed four bases in five tries.

  • Wells leads the team in walks with 21, ahead of Enoch with 16 and Michaela Carter who has drawn 13.

Break Out the Brooms

  • The Rams swept a three game series with George Washington last weekend at Bahoshy Field to improve to 8-4 in A-10 play this season, and extend what is now a five game winning streak.

  • Fordham threw out the game tying run at the plate for the final out in the first of two games last Saturday, winning 3-2, before taking their second consecutive A-10 series victory with a 2-0 win in game two.

  • Closing the series Sunday afternoon the Rams poured on six runs in the first inning and three more in the second on the way to a five inning victory over the Revs, 11-2, for the first series sweep of the 2024 campaign.

About Army

  • Despite sitting at just 8-25 on the season, Army is 3-5 in Patriot League action thus far, and are riding a four game winning streak.

  • The Black Knights swept a three-game series over Holy Cross on the road last weekend, outscoring the Crusaders 28-6 over the course of the weekend.

What's On Deck

  • The Rams return home for an A-10 series with Dayton beginning with a doubleheader Saturday at noon before a single game finale Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
