Box Score WEST POINT, N.Y. (Apr. 10, 2024) – Extending their win streak to six games in a row, Fordham University Softball defeated Army 8-1 on the road Wednesday afternoon.
Bailey Enoch would lead the offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, part of a 10-hit day for the Rams as a team, while Neleh Nogay paced the Rams with three RBI's, while seven different players tallied a run scored on the day.
Enoch would also get the start in the circle, tossing five shutout innings in just 61 pitches, giving up just three hits while striking out five Army batters. She would then turn the ball over to Olivia Simcoe, with the freshman right-hander recording the final six outs of the day, giving up a single run on three hits.
Leaving the yard for the 10th time this season, Sydney Wells would record a solo home run in the fourth to open the scoring, and the Rams would go back-to-back as Eva Koratsis drilled a solo shot on the very next at bat to give her side a 2-0 lead.
The Maroon and White would load the bases in the top of the fifth off a throwing error and pair of singles, setting up a bases-clearing double by Nogay to help the visitors break out to a five-nothing advantage through four and a half. Fordham would tack on a trio of runs for good measure in the top of the seventh, with a pair of runs scoring on an Army error, ahead of an RBI single by Bella Ayala.
Returning home for an A-10 series this weekend, the Rams host Dayton at Bahoshy Field beginning with a doubleheader Saturday at noon, before the series finale Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
