Box Score CLEMSON, S.C. – Playing just a single game on day two of the Tiger Invitational, Fordham University Softball fell to Minnesota Saturday, 4-2.
The Rams would tack on a pair early in the day before the Golden Gophers rallied later in the afternoon, scoring all four runs in the fifth to take the win.
Sarlo would tally the first two runs of the day, breaking through in the bottom of the second with a two-run double to left center. Bella Ayala and Devon Miller would come around to score on that two-base knock, before Minnesota added a single run back in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit in half.
Allowing just three hits through her first four innings of work, back to back hits to start the fourth would see Minnesota strike for three runs in the bottom of the fifth and take a 4-2 lead, before both sides were held off the board for the remainder of the contest.
Fordham closes the Tiger Invitational Sunday with a pair of games against Longwood at 10:00 a.m. and the hosts, No. 10/11 Clemson at 12:30 p.m.
