Softball Set for Showdown with Missouri Tuesday

The Rams will take on the Tigers at 2:00 p.m. at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Heading out to Long Island Tuesday afternoon, Fordham University Softball takes on Missouri at 2:00 p.m. on the campus of Hofstra.

Top of the Order

  • The Rams enter the weekend coming off a 12-4 win in the series finale at UMass, after the Minutewomen claimed a pair of high scoring games during Friday's doubleheader.

  • Entering the matchup with the Tigers, Fordham sits as the league leaders in total doubles, doubles per game and walks drawn, ranking ninth best in the nation in total doubles and 14th in the country in doubles per game.

  • Sitting second in the Atlantic 10 in home runs per game (0.60) and third in slugging percentage (.418) as a team, the Rams defensively sit second in the league in fielding percentage (.964).

  • Three Rams are hitting over .300 heading into Tuesday, led by Sydney Wells, Kate McGuire, and Bailey Enoch.

  • One of three players to start and play in every game this season, Enoch leads the team with 30 runs and 24 runs scored, with 17 extra-base hits, scattering 10 doubles, two triples, and five home runs.

  • Wells leads the team in RBI's with 34, while tallying 28 hits and 16 runs scored, with 10 doubles and a team best eight home runs, and paces the Rams in walks with 15, slashing .326/.721/.429 in 28 games played.

Bronx Bombers

  • Juan Soto and Aaron Judge aren't the only heavy hitters in The Bronx, as a pair of big bats at the top of the Fordham order, Enoch and Wells, have combined for 59 hits, 13 home runs and 48 RBI's.

  • Wells and Enoch sit tied for first in the league in total doubles, while standing first and second respectively in doubles per game, while Eva Koratsis and Gianna Sarlo are tied for fifth best in the league in total doubles.

  • Pacing the conference in multiple categories, Wells leads the A-10 in total home runs, RBI's, RBI's per game, and total bases, while sitting second in the league in slugging percentage.

  • Another one of the league leaders, Enoch sits fifth in the A-10 in home runs and slugging percentage, and is currently third best in the conference in total bases.

Taking Bases

  • With 12 stolen bases on the year, Neleh Nogay sits fourth best in the league in stolen bases and stolen bases per game, both placing her amongst the top-100 players in the nation.

  • Enoch is a perfect 7-of-7 on stolen bases, while Mikayla Swan has nabbed four bases in five tries.

  • Wells leads the team in walks with 15, ahead of Enoch and Michaela Carter who have drawn 13 apiece.

Circle This

  • Devon Miller sits second in the A-10 in hits allowed per seven innings, and is currently fourth in the league in strikeouts with 66 through 84.1 innings pitched, the third most innings tossed of any A-10 pitcher this season.

  • Holly Beeman leads the Rams with six wins, fanning 26 batters in 66.2 innings pitched.

Looking Back at the Weekend

  • Another big day for the bats Sunday afternoon, Fordham scattered double digit hits for the third straight game en route to a 12-4 victory over UMass.

  • The Rams would sound off for 12 runs on 14 hits on the afternoon, and while helped in part by four UMass errors, would see eight different Rams reach base safely with five players recording an RBI.

  • Michaela Carter would lead the efforts at the dish with three RBI's on the day, while both Nicki Sudall and Neleh Nogay tallied three hits and an RBI apiece.

What to Make of Missouri

  • At 25-7 on the year (4-5 SEC) Missouri heads up to Hempstead for a doubleheader Tuesday, as they will take on the host Hofstra after the game against the Rams.

  • The Tigers have won three of their last four, falling to #2/3 LSU last time out on Sunday 4-3.

  • Hitting .394 on the season, Alex Honnold has tallied a team best 39 hits including 15 doubles and sits second on the team with 24 RBI's and 28 runs scored, slugging .657 with an on-base percentage of .466.

  • Honnold sits second in the nation in total doubles, while as a team the Tigers sit second in the SEC in total doubles and doubles per game.

  • In the circle Cierra Harrison enters Tuesday with a 1.81 ERA through 65.2 innings pitched in 2024 recording 52 strikeouts and posting a 9-1 record in 15 appearances.

What's On Deck

  • Fordham will head down to Fairfax, Va. this weekend for a weekend set at George Mason, beginning with a doubleheader Friday, before a single game Saturday afternoon.
