D’Ippolito Earns Pair of TopDrawerSoccer Honors

Junior midfielder no. 10 in Postseason Top 100, named to Postseason Best XI First Team

BRONX, N.Y. – Already the recipient of numerous accolades following his junior season, Fordham Men's Soccer standout Daniel D'Ippolito earned two additional honors from TopDrawerSoccer this past week.

On Tuesday, D'Ippolito was named to the Postseason First Team Best XI, the equivalent of a First Team All-America selection.  The following day, D'Ippolito came in at no. 10 in TopDrawerSoccer's postseason release of its Top 100 list.  Previously, D'Ippolito checked in at no. 49 in the midseason release of the player rankings on Oct. 16 and was unranked in the top 100 to start the season.

In 2024, D'Ippolito turned in one of the most dominant seasons in Fordham Men's Soccer history, leading the Rams to an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament and their eighth A-10 semifinal appearance in the last 11 years.  He tallied 14 goals and seven assists, the former of which tied for seventh in the nation.  His 35 points tied for third overall in all of Division I.

D'Ippolito's 14 goals and seven assists both tied for ninth on the program's single-season record list while his 35 points tied for eighth.

D'Ippolito's 14 goals and 35 points were both the most by a Fordham player since John Wolyniec scored a school-record 25 times in 1998 before being selected seventh overall in the 1999 MLS College Draft.

For his efforts, D'Ippolito was named the Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year, a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, a Second Team All-Region honoree and a Third Team Academic All-American.

D'Ippolito registered two hat tricks in 2024, becoming the first Fordham player to record multiple three-goal games in the same season since John Shannon in 1982.
