Patriot League Release
 
BRONX – Fordham senior defensive lineman Matt Jaworski was named the 2024 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in a vote by the League head coaches. He is the sixth Ram to be named Defensive Player of the Year, the first since Ryan Greenhagen earned the award in 2020.
 
Fordham was well represented on the 2024 All-Patriot League football teams with four other Rams joining Jaworski in earning first team honors and four others being named to the second team.
 
Joining Jaworski on the first team are senior linebacker James Conway, senior punter Will Haslett, senior running back Julius Loughridge, and grad student defensive back Nahil Perkins. Being named to the second team are junior long snapper Walker Adkinson, grad student linebacker Mike Courtney, grad student offensive lineman Cody Johnson, and junior defensive lineman Claudy Robinson.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
 
Matt Jaworski (Sr., DL, Buffalo, N.Y./St. Francis)
• 2024 First Team All-Patriot League
• Started all 12 games on the defensive line
• Made 60 total tackles on the year, 33 solo
• Included in the 60 tackles were a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks
• Also had a team-best 34 quarterback hurries and four pass breakups
• Forced one fumble and blocked a kick
• Leads the Patriot League and ranked 17^th in the NCAA FCS in TFLs/game (1.3)
• 2024 Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year
• 2023 First Team All-Patriot League
• Recorded 42.5 career TFLs, third on the Fordham career list
• Recorded 19.5 career sacks, tied for fifth on the Fordham all-time list
 
 
FIRST TEAM ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUE
 
James Conway (Sr., LB, Omaha, Neb./Millard West)
• Is the 29^th player in Patriot League history to each All-League honors four times
• Became the Fordham and Patriot League career tackles leader this year with 436
• Limited to four games in 2024 due to injury
• Managed to still finish sixth on the team with 49 tackles
• Recorded double digit tackles in three of the four games
• Had 2.5 tackles for loss
• 2024 Preseason All-Patriot League
• 2022 and 2023 First Team All-Patriot League
• 2021 Second Team All-Patriot League
 
 
Will Haslett (Sr., P, Johnston, Pa./Bishop McCourt)
• Has started all 34 games at punter since arriving at Fordham in 2022
• Punted 67 times for 2,816 yards (42.0 yards/punt)
• Landed 19 punts inside the opponent's 20
• Had 12 punts for over 50 yards, including a season-long kick of 64 yards
• Second in the Patriot League and 37^th in the NCAA In punting average
• 2023 Second Team All-Patriot League
 
 
Julius Loughridge (Sr., RB, Houston, Texas/Mayde Creek)
• Started eleven games at running back for the Rams
• Rushed 194 times for 1,044 yards with nine touchdowns
• Became fourth player in Fordham history to record multiple 1,000-yard seasons
• Also caught 21 passes for 155 yards
• Ranked second in the Patriot League and 20^th in the NCAA FCS in rushing yards/game (94.9)
• Third in the Patriot League and 33^rd in the NCAA FCS in all-purpose yards/game (109.0)
• Fourth in the Patriot League in rushing touchdowns
• Recorded 3,005 career rushing yards, fifth all-time at Fordham
• Scored 26 career rushing touchdowns, sixth on the Fordham career list
• 2023 First Team All-Patriot League
 
Nahil Perkins (Gr., DB, Douglasville, Ga./Lanier)
•Three-year starter at cornerback
• Started all 12 games in 2024
• Finished with 56 total tackles, 36 solo, fourth on the team
• Included in the 56 tackles were five for loss and one sack
• Led the team with 15 pass breakups and five interceptions
• The 15 pass breakups was the seventh best season in school history
• Leads the Patriot League and tied for second in the NCAA FCS in pass breakups (1.7/game)
• Second in the Patriot League and tied for seventh in the NCAA FCS in interceptions (0.4/game)
• Finished career with 36 career pass breakups, fourth all-time at Fordham.

SECOND TEAM ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUE
 
Walker Adkinson (Jr., LS, Mount Dora, Fla./Winter Park)
• A two-year starter at long snapper
• Started all 12 games in 2024
• Recorded three total tackles on special teams, two solo
 
Mike Courtney (Gr., LB, Mahopac, N.Y./Don Bosco)
• Started all 12 games at linebacker in 2024
• Recorded a team-high 95 total tackles, 50 solo
• Included in the 95 tackles were 8.5 for loss and one sack
• Second on team in tackles for loss
• Also had five pass breakups and two quarterback hurries
• Fourth in the Patriot League in tackles/game (7.9)
 
Cody Johnson (Gr., OL, The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands)
• A three-year starter on the offensive line
• Displayed his versatility by starting at center and left guard
• Blocked for running back Julius Loughridge, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the second straight year
 
Claudy Robinson (Jr., DL, Clifton, N.J>/Don Bosco)
• A two-year starter on the defensive line
• Started all 12 games on the defensive line in 2024
• Recorded 37 total tackles, 13 solo
• Included in his 37 tackles were 6.0 tackles for loss and one sack
• Fourth on team in TFLs
• 2023 Second Team All-Patriot League
