Bronx, N.Y. – (October 10, 2024) – After an early scrimmage meet at Army, the Fordham swimming & diving team officially opens its 2024-25 season on Friday night at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center against the Manhattan Jaspers.
Fordham was picked third in the Atlantic 10 women's preseason coaches poll, while being selected sixth in the men's poll.
The Fordham women head into the new campaign after another undefeated dual meet season and a third place finish at the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship. The Rams have won 30 consecutive dual meets dating back to 2020 and have only lost one dual meet since the start of the 2018-19 season (43-1). The lone loss was a one point loss to Boston College in January 2020.
Led by captains
Madeline Bergin and
Jessica Zebrowski, the Fordham women return multiple Atlantic 10 medalists from last year's team, including A-10 champion in the individual medley and 200 breaststroke events and Most Outstanding Championship Performer
Ainhoa Martin. Zebrowski was also an A-10 champion in the 100 butterfly with
Emma Shaughnessy earning a silver medal in the 100 breaststroke event and
Leire Martin and
Emilie Krog picking up a bronze medal with the 800 freestyle relay team.
Additionally, Fordham has an experienced group of divers, headed up by team captain
Marco Petit. On the women's side,
Mya Bokerman,
Cai Flowers, and
Molly Farrell all made the A-10 finals in both the one-meter and three-meter dive with
Mya Sharkey also scoring in the one-meter dive.
The Fordham men are coming off another excellent campaign, after posting an 8-1 regular season record for the second straight year and setting seven school records at the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Rams finished sixth at the Atlantic 10 Championship and saw three silver medalist performances in the 200 and 400 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay.

Christian Taylor and
Daniel Langlois, Fordham returns school record holders in multiple individual events, including Taylor (100 backstroke), and
Noah Althoff (200 breaststroke), while also welcoming back two-time Olympian
Alexander Shah for his senior season.
