BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 17, 2023) – After claiming the Rams' first individual tournmanet title in more than five years, junior Jake Mrva has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Golfer of the Week, it was announced on Saturday.
 
Lance Sininger of St. Bonaventure shared the honor with Mrva. The recognition period started with the beginning of the season and ran through Wednesday Sept. 13. 
 
Anchored by an opening round of 66 (-6), Mrva cruised to victory at the Hartford Hawks Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, winning medalist honors by four strokes at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn.  His six-under 66 set program records for low round in terms of gross score and to par, surpassing Jason Del Rosso's four-under 67 carded during the 2009 Dartmouth Invitational.  During his bogey-free round, Mrva logged three birdies a side, posting a 33 on each of his nines.  

The following day, Mrva shot a one-over 73.
 
As a team, Fordham finished second at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
 
Sitting in a tie for 11^th place in the team standings after Saturday's opening round, Mrva and the Rams will wrap the Ryan Lee Memorial on Sunday at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, Conn.
