Berlin, Md. – With a stellar opening round at the Battle at Rum Pointe, Kieran Cummins paced Fordham University Golf on Friday, sitting just one shot behind the leaders in third place at three under par heading into Saturday's final round.
As a team the Rams are tied for 10th of 18 teams in the field at +15 collectively, with Iona and Fairfield tied atop the team leaderboard at one under par. Monmouth is third six strokes back at five over par, one shot ahead of Dartmouth, and four shots ahead of Colgate who rounds out the top five at nine over as a team.
Tallying five birdies across the round, Cummins had four across the front-nine alone, finishing with a score of 69, just one back of Monmouth's Patrick Scenna and Fairfield's Rasmus Rasmus, who lead the 98-player field in Maryland.
Finishing second for the Rams was AJ DePaolo who was three over par in an 11-way tie for 35th in the field, followed by Patrick Ginnity one shot back at four over, tied for 46th.
Luke Brower and Liam Howard were tied for 66th in the field at seven over par, with Jack St. Ledger rounding out the scores for Fordham at 10 over par, tied for 86th.
Fordham tees off tomorrow morning for the final round of action, which can be followed via Leaderboard King.
