Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 reveal its year-end softball awards on Wednesday morning and Fordham's freshman duo
Holly Beeman and
Neleh Nogay represented the squad, both earning All-Rookie honors, while Nogay was named First Team All-Conference.
Nogay becomes the eighth Ram selected to the First Team as a true freshman and first since Paige Rauch in 2018. The New Castle, Pa. native wrapped up a torrid conference slate this weekend, finishing league play with a .500 average, tops in the conference, with a team-high 34 hits and nine steals, and sharing the team-lead with 17 runs scored. The outfield speedster started all 21 league games and all 42 contests she appeared in this season. For the year, Nogay slashed .395/.427/.419 with 49 hits, 24 runs, and 14 steals, while committing just three errors in the field. That average was second-highest in the A-10, second only to Dayton's Emma Schutter, the league's Player of the Year. A two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week, she tallied a team-high 16 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit efforts, and currently rides an eight-game hit streak and nine-game reached-base streak.
Beeman led the league in ERA, finishing at 1.56 for the season, including a 1.75 mark in league action, while pacing Fordham's staff with 99 innings. The Lake Oswego, Ore. native began the year earning two Pitcher of the Week awards over the first three weeks. She recorded an 8-8 record, 4-3 in conference games, across 20 appearances and 13 starts, going the distance 11 times with three shutouts. Beeman struck out 55 and held opponents to a .222 average.
