Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams open the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship, Fordham's 120th varsity season, by facing the La Salle University Explorers at the Barclays Center on Wednesday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m.
 
Fordham students who have not already purchased a ticket can still get a $20 student ticket for $10 by showing your Fordham ID at the Barclays Center box office.
 
Join the Ramses Challenge, a new philanthropic initiative supporting our student-athletes. Pledge a set amount for each rebound, offensive rebound, steal, or assist. All proceeds are tax-deductible and go directly to the men's basketball program. There is also an option to make a one-time gift to men's basketball.
 
The game will be broadcast on the USA Network with Jac Collingsworth (PxP), Julianne Viani-Braen (analyst), and Caroline Pineda (sidelines) announcing as well as broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuvsports.org with Sam Davis (PxP) and Ryan Gregware (analyst) behind the mics.

Fordham, the three seed, enters the game with a 24-7 overall record and is coming off an 87-60 A-10 win over Duquense in the historic Rose Hill Gym last Saturday afternoon, while La Salle, seeded eleventh, 15-18 overall on the year following an 81-70 win over Duquesne in the quarterfinals of the A-10 Championship on Wednesday night.
 
Thursday night's contest will be the 65th meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood with the Explorers leading the all-time series, which started in 1953-54, 43-21, but the Rams have taken each of the last four matchups. The Rams won this year's meeting, 66-64, in Philadelphia behind 19 points from Will Richardson and a last second jumper from Antrell Charlton.
 
Notes
• The Rams finished the regular season with a 12-6 Atlantic 10 record, tying Fordham for second the Rams' best ever finish.
 
• The 12 Atlantic 10 wins are the most ever for the Rams (previous high was ten in 2006-2007) and the most conference wins ever (previous record was eleven Patriot League wins in 1990-1991 and 1991-1992).
 
• The three-seed is Fordham's best for an Atlantic 10 Championship and the best seed since the 1992-1993 squad was a three-seed at the 1993 Patriot League Championship.
 
• The 24 wins for Fordham are the most overall wins since the 1990-1991 team won 25 games.
 
• Fordham head coach Keith Urgo was named the 2023 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year while Darius Quisenberry (second) and Khalid Moore (third were named to the All-Conference team and Kyle Rose was named to the All-Defensive team.
 
• Urgo was also named a finalist for the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award, presented annually to the top coach in all of Division I, and the Joe B. Hall Award, presented annually to the top first-year coach in the country.
 
• Grad student forward Khalid Moore is averaging 17.7 ppg over the past 13 games.
 
• Moore is averaging 15.3 ppg, second on the team and tenth in the Atlantic 10, and a team-best 6.5 rpg, along with 55 assists, 35 steals, and eleven blocks.
 
• Grad student guard Darius Quisenberry, who scored his 2,000th career point at Richmond, is leading the Rams in scoring at 17.0 ppg, sixth in the Atlantic 10.
 
• Junior guard Kyle Rose is third in the Atlantic 10 in steals (1.8/game).
 
• Junior Abdou Tsimbila leads the Atlantic lead 10 in blocks (1.9/game) and is tied for eleventh in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding (6.4).
 
The Rams are 1-3 against La Salle at the Atlantic 10 Championship but took the most recent matchup, 64-62, in the 2006 quarterfinals.
