New York, N.Y. – (February 4, 2023) – Members of the Fordham track & field team were in action for a second time this weekend, as they competed at the Scarlet Knights Open, held at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York.
On the men's side,
Justin Rhee had the best finish, placing 13
th overall in the triple jump event with a mark of 42' 8".
Erik Brown led a trio of Rams in the 800 meters, running 1:57.51, good for 30
th overall, while
Christopher Martinez finished 42
nd in 1:59.56.
George Pomer pulled double duty on Saturday, placing 34
th in the 60-meter dash at 8.10 seconds while taking 70
th overall in the 800 meters (2:09.25).
Christian Weddington was the last men's competitor, recording a time of 22.84 seconds in the 200 meters, which was 30
th overall.
On the women's side,
Alexandra Manetovic had the best finish, placing 18
th in the triple jump at 36' 0", while teammate
Leia Ruvo was 21
st overall at 35' 9 ¼".
In the 800 meters,
Helen Connolly was 20
th overall in 2:16.14, followed by
Mary Kathryn Underwood in 27
th (2:17.89) and
Molly Mulvaney in 43
rd (2:24.40).
The final Ram competing on Saturday was
Alexandra Williams, who was 60
th overall in the 200-meter dash in 27.31 seconds.
Fordham will now get ready for another busy weekend on February 10-11, when the team will compete at both the BU Valentine Invitational in Boston and the Millrose Game in New York.
