Bronx, N.Y. – (December 8, 2023) – The Fordham baseball team has announced its 2024 schedule for the upcoming spring, which features 23 home games, as well as road trips to North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia in non-conference action.
Fordham will open its 164
th season of play on February 16
th, when the Rams travel to Winston Salem, North Carolina for a three-game round robin weekend. Fordham begins the weekend with host Wake Forest on Friday, followed by games with Akron on Saturday and Illinois on Sunday. The Rams have played Wake Forest twice before in 1981 and 2011, Akron four times (2 – 1998; 2 – 1999), and Illinois once in 2015.
The Rams follow with another round robin weekend, February 23-25, playing Army West Point, Maine, and Stetson in Deland, Florida. Fordham will also have three game road series at Wofford (March 1-3) and at William & Mary (Mar. 8-10) in non-conference play.
In between those series, Fordham is scheduled to play mid-week home contests against Saint Peter's (Feb. 28), Marist (Mar. 6), and Wagner (Mar. 13).
The Rams then have a split series against Fairfield and Army West Point, March 15-17. Fordham is at Army West Point on March 15 and at Fairfield on March 16. The Rams then host both schools on March 17 at Houlihan Park.
After a home game against Hofstra on March 20, Fordham will play its final non-conference series against St. John's from March 22-24. The Friday and Sunday games will be at St. John's with the Saturday contest at Houlihan Park.
Following the St. John's series, Fordham has four remaining non-conference home games against Monmouth (Apr. 2), Sacred Heart (Apr. 16), FDU (Apr. 24), and Manhattan (May 1), as well as two road contests against Stony Brook (Mar. 27) and Columbia (Apr. 10).
The Rams' Atlantic 10 schedule features eight three-game series, four at home and four away. League play for Fordham opens with a three-game series at Dayton, March 29-31. Fordham will also travel to Massachusetts (Apr. 12-14), Rhode Island (Apr. 26-28), and St. Bonaventure (May 16-18).
For home series, Fordham welcomes Richmond (Apr. 5-7), Saint Louis (Apr. 19-21), Saint Joseph's (May 3-5) and VCU (May 10-12).
The regular season leads up to the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held May 21-25, at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia.
