SERIES HISTORY: Sunday will be the 27th all-time Battle of the Rams between Fordham and Rhode Island.  Fordham leads the series at 13-10-3, following a 3-1 win by the Maroon and White at Moglia Stadium last year.  Fordham received goals from Ryann Lucas, Kristen Cocozza, and Cambrie Arboreen in that match.

LAST TIME OUT (10/1): The Fordham women's soccer team posted its second consecutive shutout on Sunday and got a goal in the 89th minute by Lena Johnsen to earn a 1-0 win over the Davidson Wildcats at Moglia Stadium.

After Thursday's scoreless draw with Dayton, today's game looked to be heading toward the same result until the 89th minute.  Cianna Elmazaj found Lena Johnsen near the top left side of the box in the final minutes.  Johnsen lined up a shot from 22 yards that glanced off the crossbar and into the net for her third goal of the season.

The Rams also got a second straight strong performance from goalkeeper Serena Mensah, who recorded her second consecutive shutout and earned her first win of the year.  Mensah tied her career-high with nine saves in the match.  Previously, she had nine saves in a match at Columbia last year.

RAMS' DUO EARNS A-10 ACCOLADES (10/2): The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly women's soccer awards today with Fordham goalkeeper Serena Mensah being named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman midfielder Lena Johnsen was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week.  This is Mensah's first career weekly award and the second this season for Johnsen.

Mensah posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time in her career this past week as Fordham picked up four points in the league standings.  She started the week with seven saves in a shutout at Dayton on Thursday, which marked the first time the Rams had earned a result at Baujan Field in 12 all-time visits.  Mensah then tied her career-high with nine saves on Sunday in a 1-0 win over Davidson.  She previously had a nine-save performance at Columbia last year.

Johnsen picked up her second Rookie of the Week award after netting her first career game-winning goal on Sunday.  She scored in the 89th minute to give Fordham a 1-0 win over Davidson.  Johnsen is now tied for the team lead in scoring with eight points.

WELCOME BACK CIANNA: After sustaining an injury after her first game as a Ram, Fordham's Cianna Elmazaj returned to the Rams' lineup against St. Bonaventure on September 21st.  Her impact on the field was immediately felt, netting a goal against the Bonnies, while assisting on the Rams' lone goal against Yale and the game-winning tally against Davidson.  In five games this season, she has two goals and two assists for six points.
