Tim DeMorat finished second among voting for the 2022 Stats Perform Walter Payton Award, which honors the offensive player of the year in college football's Division I subdivision, it was announced tonight at the FCS National Awards banquet at the Frisco Convention Center.

A consensus All-American, DeMorat is the first Ram to be invited to the awards banquet as one of the top three finalist for the Payton Award. He was joined on the Payton Award finalist list by senior wide receiver
Fotis Kokosioulis, who placed in a tie for 14th.
