Princeton, N.J. – (April 16, 2022) – The Fordham track & field team completed their stay at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University, on Saturday, as the Rams posted five season-best performances on the day.
The events began with the field events, as
Tiffany Hanna placed 13
th in the women's discus throw with a mark of 136' 6", while in the men's long jump,
Justin Rhee finished 15
th with a mark of 21' 1 ¼" with Jad Dyer-Kennedy ending up 13
th in the women's triple jump at 36' ¼".
On the track, the first event was the 4x100 relay, where the Fordham women's team of
Dominique Valentine,
Sarah Galvin,
Kathryn Kelly and
Kyla Hill finished 11
th in a season-best time of 47.62 seconds. Not to be outdone, the men's relay squad of Rhee,
Isaiah James,
Manuel Alfonso Guzman,
Robert LeFevre also posted a season-best time of 43.24 seconds, good for 15
th overall.
Bridget Alex
Next was the 1,500-meter run, where the Rams had two competitors in both the women's and men's event.
Bridget Alex took second place in the women's event in a season-best time of 4:37.90, followed by
Alexandra Thomas in sixth place at 4:47.92.
Nathan Bezuneh was the Rams' top finisher in the men's event, clocking in at 4:02.77 for 25
th, with
Daniel Asher in 33
rd (4:10.30).
Valentine and
Mary Kathryn Underwood were the next two runners for the Rams. Valentine ended up 19
th in the women's 400-meter dash in 57.73 seconds, while Underwood was 23
rd in the 800 meters at 2:22.71. Then in the men's 800 meters,
Christopher Strzelinski placed seventh in 1:54.17 with
Eric Jacobson in 15
th (1:55.43) and
Patrick Tuohy in 21
st (1:57.71).
The 400-meter hurdles were the next event, as
Sophia Crucs finished 25
th in the women's event at 1:09.80, while
Chase Krug was 22
nd in the men's event in a season-best time of 59.36 seconds.
The meet ended with the 4x400 relay with Fordham taking ninth in the women's event, as Hill,
Ruby Avila, Crucs, and
Molly Mulvaney posted a season-best time of 3:57.09, while the men's team of
Antony Misko,
Jeremiah LaDuca, Krug, and Jacobson were fifth overall in 3:19.47.
The Rams are next in action on Saturday, April 23
rd, at the Mark Young Invitational, hosted by Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
