Women’s Soccer Begins Stretch Run Against Davidson & VCU

Rams Travel to Davidson on Wednesday, while Hosting VCU for Senior Day on Sunday

Bronx, N.Y. – (October 12, 2022) – Following a setback against La Salle, the Fordham women's soccer team hits the stretch run in Atlantic 10 play this week with matches at Davidson on Wednesday and then at home on Sunday versus VCU for Senior Day.

Fordham (4-8-1, 3-2-1 A10) remains at 10 points in the league standings, which now has the Rams in a tie for seventh place.  The Maroon and White have picked up the scoring pace, netting 10 goals in six league games, led by Kristen Cocozza, who has four of those 10 goals.

VCU (6-1-7, 4-0-2 A10) will host Loyola Chicago on Thursday before coming to the Bronx on Sunday afternoon.  VCU has won four straight Atlantic 10 matches and sit in third place in the league after defeating Dayton last Sunday.  The Rams have been one of the top defensive teams, allowing nine goals in 14 games, led by their goalkeeper Whitney Horton, who has 54 saves and seven shutouts this season.  Offensively, Kendyl Sarver is the team's top scorer with seven goals and two assists.
