Fordham Athletics Responds to Bronx Fire Tragedy

Fordham SAAC working to support victims

Bronx, N.Y. – In response to the Bronx Fire tragedy that occurred on January 9, the Fordham Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) is working on ways Fordham Athletics can help and support the individuals and families of this tragedy. Right now, the most expeditious way to get aid to survivors and the families of victims is to give to Catholic Charities, an organization that already has a sizable footprint in the community and low overhead, ensuring that your aid goes to those in need. This is a method fully supported by Father John J. Cecero, S.J., and Fordham's Division of Mission Integration which he leads.

"We were saddened to hear of the tragic fire in the Bronx on Sunday," said Fordham director of athletics Ed Kull. "We mourn with our community the lives of those lost, injured, and displaced. Despite this difficult time, we know the resiliency of our Bronx neighbors will shine through. The Bronx community has cared for Fordham for many years, and right now we need to care for them."
