After a scoreless first half, Fordham goalkeeper Serena Mensah made the first big play of the second half in the opening moments, making a diving one-handed stop on a shot from in tight by Molly O'Brien.

The first goal of the game came on a brilliant effort from Fordham's Alexandra Taylor in the 68th minute of the match.  A cleared ball out of the box came to Taylor about 22 yards from goal.  Taylor then juked around a La Salle defender and found the lower right corner of the goal from 20 yards for her second goal of the season.

The score remained 1-0 Rams until the final minutes, when La Salle found the equalizer in the 88th minute.  From near the corner, Danielle Rooney crossed a ball that found its way to the top left of the box, where Shea Collins took a shot that deflected off Molly O'Brien in front and ended up inside the right post to tie the game at one.  It was her first of the season.

The match then went into overtime, where Mensah and the Fordham defense stopped three La Salle chances to keep the game at one all.  Fordham's best chance in extra time, came off the boot of Olivia Redden, who took a free kick in the first overtime from about 35 yards out that lobbed its way into the goal, but the Rams were called for a foul on the goalkeeper, negating the play.

Mensah finished with a career-high six saves in the match, while La Salle goalkeeper Michela Auguadro was credited with five.

KENNEDY STREAKIN': Junior forward Caitlin Kennedy has had a superb start in 2021 and is among the Atlantic 10 leaders in goals (5) and points (11), both of which are already career-highs.  She has already been named Offensive Player of the Week twice by the league, had a four-game goal scoring streak, and had a six-match points streak snapped against La Salle.

WHO'S NEXT: The Rams are next in action on Thursday, September 30th, as the team hosts Davidson for a 7:00 PM match with the Wildcats.  Fordham then returns to the road on Sunday, October 3rd for a 2:00 PM match at Rhode Island.
