Newport News, Va. – Fordham softball sophomore
Devon Miller has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for a second time this season, the league office announced Monday. She has also earned two Rookie of the Week nods, as well, this year. Miller tossed two shutouts over the weekend at La Salle.
Miller was once again nearly unhittable during her two starts in Philadelphia this weekend, pitching each doubleheader's first game and shutting the La Salle offense down for her third and fourth shutouts of the year. She previously had thrown two five-inning perfect games against the Explorers at home at the beginning of April.
The Chadds Ford, Pa. native allowed just five baserunners while striking out six in the series opener, then punched out 10 Explorers in the third game of the series, her sixth double-digit strikeout effort this year, with only six baserunners allowed. All told, she struck out 16 over 14 innings with just one extra-base hit allowed, now up to just 11 on the season.
Miller improved to 10-2 overall with a 1.37 ERA and 115 strikeouts over 71.2 innings, going the distance eight times across 15 appearances and 11 starts.
The Rams return to action this Wednesday with a doubleheader against Binghamton. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Bahoshy Field with both games being streamed on ESPN+.
